What We Do

We strive to reduce the stress and anxiety that families often feel on a daily basis due to the higher needs of their children, and the impact on the family unit as a whole. We achieve this by providing a network of support which includes training and respite opportunities.

Saturday Clubs

Sensecere’s current respite offering is Saturday Clubs aimed at children aged 0–12 and young people aged 12–17. The clubs run fortnightly and offer an opportunity for families to have a break from their caring responsibilities.

The children and young people will have the opportunity to explore a sensory environment, where the team understands, develops, and supports them in a fun learning environment.

Plus Saturday Club

(Ages 13–17)

Our Teen Saturday Club is a welcoming space for young people with additional needs to hang out, have fun, and be themselves. Each session is packed with creative activities and sensory-friendly zones, where everyone can explore sound, movement, and calming sensory experiences at their own pace.

It’s a place to make friends, try new things, and enjoy a weekend with one-to-one support where needed, enabling a boost of confidence and connection at every session.

Parent Workshops

Imagine a sensory workshop designed specifically for parents and carers. It’s a space where you can learn about and experience the same sensory activities that the children enjoy. We also explore and learn what can be sensory triggers for some of our children, and how and why those experiences can challenge and build to children feeling overwhelmed.

This workshop delivers hands-on experience with different textures, sounds, and calming techniques, all whilst discovering new ways to support your children’s sensory experiences in life. These will be lifelong skills, i.e. doctors’ appointments, haircuts, and social experiences. These techniques will help you create and understand a new way ahead with the continuous support of Sensecere.
